The focus of Core Strength Flow, as you might guess, is core strength. Nicki Doane, however, goes the extra mile and gives you a balanced approach to core strength, which doesn't mean simply doing ab and back work as you see with so many other DVDs. Instead, you'll use deep core muscles throughout the entire practice, whether doing standing, sitting, or lying-down poses. Instructor Nicki Doane is trained in Ashtanga yoga and, although this is not an Ashtanga practice, you will see an Ashtanga influence. Rather, it's an active vinyasa flow, done at a pace slow enough to allow you to hold the poses for a good length of time.
There are three practices on this DVD. The full-length practice is 45 minutes. The other two practices, 20 and 30 minutes each, are perfect for days you're time-challenged. The DVD was filmed on Maui, so you get the bonus of beautiful scenery! |
